Let’s learn about the kingdoms of nature. Kingdoms are a way that scientists have developed to divide all living things based on what they have in common. These kingdoms are: Moneran kingdom, Protist Kingdom, Fungi Kingdom, Plantae Kingdom and Animalia Kingdom.

KINGDOM

CHARACTERISTICS

EXAMPLES

MONERA KINGDOM

Consists of organisms that are made up of one cell, called unicellular. These unicellular organisms are made of a very simple cell that often lacks many cell parts, such as a nucleus, that are commonly found in other cells.

The bacteria

KINGDOM

CHARACTERISTICS

EXAMPLES

PROTIST KINGDOM

Protists are unicellular and a bit more complex because they contain a nucleus. They also have moving parts and can move around within their environment.

The algae

The amoeba

FUNGI

KINGDOM

Fungi have their own kingdom because there is no other organism like them. Fungi has multicellular eukaryote organisms and cannot make their own food.

The mushrooms

the yeast

EXAMPLES

PLANTAE KINGDOM

It is characterized by its inmobile, multicellular and eukaryotic nature. These plantae, whose cells contain cellulose and chlorophyll are essential for life on earth since they release oxygen through photosynthesis.

The trees

The plants

ANIMALIA KINGDOM

It is divided into two large groups –vertebrates and invertebrates. These animals are multi-celled, they have sexual reproduction and the ability to move. This kingdom is one of the most diverse.

Mammals

the fishes

The birds

Reptiles

among others, human beings also belong to this kingdom.
